Climate change and sustainable use of the environment have been recognized among the main threats for the future of mankind.
The Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have reaffirmed their compromise to help public bodies and international agencies to tackle the effects and causes of environmental degradation. Accordingly, environmental issues have been integrated in most of the activities of the Movement, specially those involving youth.
From the CCM we work to encourage cooperation among the National Societies of the Mediterranean and other stakeholders by promoting activities related to the protection of the environment, enhancing in this way the capacity of National Societies to face the humanitarian challenge presented by climate change.
A recent example is the Atlantis youth camp IV realized in Serbia or the Seminar on Environment and Climate Change for the North of Africa, which took place in Morocco.
