The 10th Mediterranean Conference of Athens 2007 highlighted the importance of Youth by stating that it is a priority of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

To invest in Youth and to ensure continuity to its action and representativity to its delegates will strengthen not only the present but also the future of the Movement. This is both because young volunteerism represents the greatest majority of all RC/RC volunteers and because of the great impact that Youth has on local communities while responding to the needs of the most vulnerable. The action of the CCM is constantly focused on building up partnership and enhancing the meeting of cultures and different identities among the Mediterranean Youth, which represents an ideal laboratory of intercultural dialogue and flood of ideas.

The CCM experience of working with them has demonstrated that its strength is in the extraordinary capacity of receiving education and spreading it, contributing in a decisive manner in multiplying worldwide the message of the RC/RC principles.
