Mediterranean Photo Contest for Youth

The CCM organizes a yearly Photo Contest for youth in the Mediterranean region. In the framework of the 2009 European Year on Creativity and Innovation, and in accordance with the RC/RC International Movements background, the Photo Contest was launched in order to give youth the possibility to creatively express their vision on current issues and to raise awareness about the selected topic.

Each year a new and current theme is selected in accordance with the goals and visions of the RC/RC International Movement. So far the following have been tackled: climate change and environment; Social inclusion; Youth and Volunteering.

This year’s themes are the seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality) and the role of youth as agents and actors of change.
